We surely miss Steve Jobs at the annual Apple confab but his presence was felt all over the conference hall. The Apple’s weeklong Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) commonly known as The All Things D’s D10 Conference started on June 11, 2012 and will run until Friday, June 15, 2012 in San Francisco. The annual event is geared for Apple to showcase its hardware as well as software product lineup. Over 5,000 industry professionals attend the annual confab. The first conference was held in Monterey, California in 1983.
The current CEO, Tim Cook, not trying to imitate his previous boss, Steve Jobs who passed away a year ago. Fox announced that he would like to bring jobs lost over the years back to the U.S., a complete departure from Steve Jobs who mentioned that “The jobs aren’t coming back”.
By the conclusion of the day one of the conference, Apple has revealed that it will launch its Maps, the mapping and GPS navigation service. The voice enabled GPS navigation service will be available on iPhone for free which will also include real-time traffic, Yelp integration, crowd-sourced traffic data, Siri support and an ability to work in a locked screen.
